WHAT SURGICAL PROCEDURS ARE THERE FOR VARICOSE VEINS?Indications of each procedure: Surgical ligation with interruption of the dilated vein is indicated in insufficiency of the saphenous junction with the femoral or popliteal vein, and in incompetent perforating veins. In perforating veins, ligation should be done below the muscle at the point where it emerges from the femoropopliteal system. Stripping of large vessels is indicated mainly in the saphenous axes Mini-phlebectomies are performed in secondary troncular vessels and in very developed reticular vessels.
